Eight lanes

Eight synthetic lanes, resurfaced in 2023, with the original wood approaches left in place because they are better than anything you can buy now. Automatic scoring on every pair. Bumpers go up on lanes 1 and 2 for anyone who asks, and they go up in about thirty seconds, so ask.

House balls run from 6 to 16 pounds and they live on the racks behind the approach. If you bowl often enough to want your own drilled, we do not drill here, but the counter will tell you who does and roughly what they charge.

Do not shoot down the centre aisle from the door. It flattens the room and hides the pin decks, which are the thing worth showing.

Open bowl

Friday and Saturday, 6 to 10.

That is the whole of it. Four hours on Friday night and four on Saturday night, and the rest of the week belongs to the leagues. It is worth saying plainly because people drive twenty minutes on a Sunday afternoon and find the door locked, and then they do not try again.

No reservation is needed for open bowl and lanes are first come. On a Friday in January you will walk straight on. On a Friday in July, when it is a hundred degrees and everyone has the same idea, expect to wait for a pair around seven o'clock.

Holidays and the odd tournament close us on a night we would normally be open. Call before you leave the house if you are driving in from out of town.

The counter, and what it costs

Shoes, scoring, and whichever of us is working. Cash and cards both. There is no membership, no online booking and no app, and there is not going to be one.

By the game is cheaper for two or three people. By the hour is cheaper for five or six, and it is the one to ask for if there are children in the group, because a nine-year-old's game takes as long as three of yours.

The party room

What you get

Two lanes for two hours, the room next to them with eight chairs and two tables, shoes for everybody, and the counter will keep the pop coming. Bring your own cake. We will not charge you for cutting it.

What it costs, and when to call

$90 for up to ten bowlers, $7 for each one after that. Book at least two weeks ahead for a Saturday, longer in February and March, which are the two busiest birthday months of the year here and nobody knows why.

Shoot it empty and set, not mid-party. Parents are trying to picture their own child's party in it, and other people's children in the frame get in the way of that.

The snack counter

Hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, popcorn, fountain pop and coffee that has been on since six. It is not a restaurant and it does not pretend to be. Nothing on it costs more than five dollars.

Outside food is fine at a booked party and not otherwise, which is the same rule every house in the county has and the one thing people ask about most.
